hy Choose a Madagascar Offshore Provider Rather Than a French Agency

1. The Wrong Comparison

Almost every call starts the same way: “What is your daily rate?” It is a legitimate question — and the wrong first question. A daily rate tells you nothing about the number of days, who counts them, or what happens when three more are needed.

The useful comparison comes down to four things: the total cost through production, the management burden that remains on your side, the response time throughout the product's lifecycle, and the written commitment if things go off track. The daily rate is only one of the four.

A cheaper quote that requires twice as many meetings isn't cheaper. It is simply being billed elsewhere — on your calendar.

2. The Four Market Columns

Here are the ranges we observe on the French market in 2026, for a medium-sized web or mobile product. These ranges are not absolute truths: they are the figures that repeatedly appear in quotes our clients show us.

FRENCH AGENCY FRENCH FREELANCER DISTANT OFFSHORE AKATA · MADAGASCAR
Observed daily rate 550–800 € 400–600 € 90–180 € 136 € · published

3. What Madagascar Brings to the Table That Other Offshore Locations Don't

Offshoring has a bad reputation in France, and often for good reasons: inconvenient time zones, survival-level English, teams changing every two months, and code that nobody can take over. Madagascar is not just another offshore destination, and the difference is structural rather than merely commercial.

01 — THE TIME ZONE
One to two hours ahead of Paris. We start before you and finish with you. A message at 9:10 a.m. finds someone in front of their screen, not a reply the following morning.
02 — THE LANGUAGE
French is a real working language, not a sales argument. Specifications, code reviews, and weekly meetings are conducted in the language of your business.
03 — STABILITY
In Fianarantsoa, an engineer does not change employers every six months for an extra ten percent. We have maintained five years of continuous development on the same client system, without team turnover.
04 — THE FRAMEWORK
NDA, GDPR compliance, and non-solicitation agreements are signed before the first technical discussion. The applicable law and jurisdiction are written into the contract, rather than left to chance.

The price difference does not come from squeezing salaries or relying on junior staff. It comes from the cost of living and the absence of a heavy sales structure: no Paris offices, no commission-based salespeople, no intermediary between the engineer writing the code and you.

4. When a French Agency Is Still the Right Choice

We turn down projects, and it is not out of vanity. There are three situations where we will tell you to work with an agency closer to home:

A.
Being there in person is part of the deliverable. Weekly on-site workshops, field-based user research, training internal teams: you need people in the room.
B.
A regulatory requirement imposes territorial restrictions. Some public-sector contracts and healthcare data require hosting and service providers to be located within a specific territory. That is non-negotiable, and it is not us.
C.
The need isn't a real need yet. If the scope changes every week, no remote team will save the project. You need to define the scope first, then talk about production.

5. Seven Checks Before Signing with an Offshore Provider

Ask these seven questions of any remote provider, including us. A refusal to answer in writing is an answer in itself.

01
Who owns the code, accounts, and domain names — and on exactly what date?
02
Is the delivery date included in the contract, with a consequence if it is missed?
03
How many named people will work on my project, and can I speak to them directly?
04
Where is the data hosted, under which jurisdiction, and what does the contract say in the event of a dispute?
05
What happens if I stop after two months? What do I take with me, and what do I pay?
06
Can I see a project delivered three years ago that is still in production?
07
Who responds when production goes down at 6 p.m. on a Friday, and within what timeframe?

6. How to Decide in One Hour

Take your latest agency quote. Count the days, not the price. Then ask us to quote the same scope: our estimate is delivered within 48 hours and our prices are published, so you can check the calculation before even speaking with us.
